Q: Don’t be shy, introduce yourself.
A: My name is Giles and I’m a Senior Sales Manager.
Q: Job title, you say…what do you actually do?
A: The best way I can describe the role is providing solutions to agencies and brands based on their specific needs and goals. I work closely with our internal teams (like Creative Studio and Client Strategy) to build out bespoke solutions for each brief.
Q: Best bit of your job?
A: Definitely the flexibility to be creative and innovative. Working in media, you come across some pretty cool opportunities to think outside the box and bring something new to life with leading global brands. That’s pretty hard to pass up on.
Q: Okay – what’s a part of your job that could suddenly vanish and you wouldn’t cry about it?
A: If I never heard the word CRM again, I wouldn't be mad at all.
Q: What’s a fact about media/advertising that everyone should know?
A: In the 1920s, the Eiffel Tower was used as a massive billboard for Citroën. It took 250,000 lightbulbs and featured in the Guinness World Book of Records as the world’s biggest ad.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at Vyde? (And no, you can’t say the coffee machine).
A: It has to be the people. After relocating to London from Australia, the whole Vyde team have gone above and beyond to support me and I’ve made some life long friends in the process!
Q: An ad (old and new) that’s stuck with you?
A: It’s funny as both of these are going to be Australian… The classic for me is always going to be Qantas “I still call Australia Home”, which has to be in (at least) the top three, all-time most memorable ads to ALL Aussies.
The Old Spice ‘The Man Your Man Could Smell Like’ is also absolutely iconic. Get to know.
Q: Go-to-afternoon snack?
A: My new favourites have gotta be Wotsits! Can’t get enough of them.
Q: Loudest person in the office?
A: Sellars takes the cake!
Q: And, finally, what don’t they tell you about being a Senior Sales Manager?
Everyone will tell you about the good days but you have to remember that there are plenty of average ones too – sales is full of highs and lows! Keep calm and carry on, as you Brits would say.
