What They Don't Tell You About Being a... Junior Creative

January 21, 2026

‍Q: Don’t be shy, introduce yourself.‍

A: My name is Scarlett and I’m a Junior Creative.

Q: Job title, you say…what do you actually do?

A: I do all things creative when it comes to our ads! Whether that’s designing engaging visuals or writing copy that gets people to click, it’s all about making the advertising cool and exciting for our clients and their audiences.

Q: Best bit of your job?

A: The variety. One day I’ll be designing the visuals for a beauty campaign and the next I’ll be coming up with the advert structure for a supermarket. It keeps things interesting!

Q: Okay – what’s a part of your job that could suddenly vanish and you wouldn’t cry about it?

A: Probably the more technical parts of tracking – it fries my brain a bit sometimes, especially on a Monday morning.

Q: What’s a fact about media/advertising that everyone should know?

A: Audiences take 50 milliseconds to decide if they want to look at an advert so first impressions are key!

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at Vyde? (And no, you can’t say the coffee machine).

A: The culture – it's a fun group of people! And the tunes in the office are always pretty good.

Q: An ad (old and new) that’s stuck with you?

A: The Peachy Den x Olivia Neill campaign advert. It was a really cool homage to the best scene in The Devil Wears Prada and a really smart move for the brand to partner with such a popular influencer.

Q: Go-to-afternoon snack?

A: A nice, cold can of diet coke.

Q: Loudest person in the office?

A: Probably anyone on the sales team… particularly Sellars!

Q: And, finally, what don’t they tell you about being a Junior Creative?

You know more than you give yourself credit for – you’re also a consumer that interacts with hundreds of products and services every day. Trust your judgement as sharing your perspective can only make the final product stronger.
